The call for abstracts has expired the 13th of July at 12:00 noon. It has been very successful in terms of participation achieving record figures. Thank you all for participating in this exciting meeting.

By submitting an abstract you are accepting the terms and conditions laid out in the following rules and are giving us permission to publish it in any on-line or printed organizer´s means of communications, always mentioning author´s attribution. In this context you´ll be responsible to have authorization from all co-authors involved.

 

Please read carefully the following rules before submitting your abstract.

 

Terms
 

Accepted abstracts will be published into the abstract compilation that will be given to every meeting´s attendee and will be published on-line in this website.

 

All abstracts must be submitted through the online form for being considered, even if you have been asked by the organizer of a Session to present a key-note speak in her/his session. Abstracts received by email will not be accepted.

 

Contributions must be sent by the presenting authorTo encourage broad participation, each person is allowed to submit only one abstract as main/presenting author. All kind of presentations are included in this rule. A person may serve as a non-presenting co-author on several abstracts. Serving as a session organizer and/or moderator does not violate this rule.
 
Authors can contribute to any of the scientific sessions programmed, either General sessions (GS) or Thematic sessions (TS). Descriptions of the scopes and topics are available here.

 

Title and Abstract must be written in standard English (poorly written abstracts will be rejected). English is also the recommended language for digital presentations and posters. Abstract length is limited to 250 words maximun.

 

Accuracy of the abstract is the responsibility of the author(s). The presenting author must include all authors involved (forename, name, affiliation centre and e-mail are required) in strict sequential order as they want to appear in the abstract compilation. The person in charge of the submission is responsible to obtain consent and agreement from all co-authors regarding content and participation.

 

Abstracts must be based primarily on unpublished material, should be informative, must report explicitly conclusions and, at least, preliminary results, so they are required not to be mainly based on future work. Abstracts that do not fit the standard required quality will be rejected by the Scientific Committee.

 

The presenting author may optionally inform about their career status. This will help us to learn about the meeting participants' profiles, and let us identify eligible candidates for some awards. Early career researchers, including PhD students and postdocs (within eight years after the achievement of their PhD), presenting an ORAL THEORETICAL contribution may apply for the European Ecological Federation (EEF) AwardThe award consists of a sum of 2000€ granted by the EEF for a research stay or a meeting attendance. The prize will be awarded at the close ceremony of the meeting.
 
Type of presentations
 
  • Poster presentations
  • Oral presentations of 12 minutes (plus 2 minutes for questions).
  • Thematic sessions keynote presentations of 20 minutes (plus 8 minutes for questions).
  • General sessions invited presentations of 45 minutes (plus 12 minutes for questions).
 
Once submmited the abstract, the sender will be able to log back and return to re-edit his/her contribution at any time until the submission deadline. Afterwards contributors will not be able to amend any item (session or symposium, type of contribution, title, summary or sequential list of authors).

 

Abstracts that are incomplete or received after the deadline will not be considered. Please be sure to submit the final-revised version of your contribution before the 13th of July of 2018, at 12:00 h noon. UTC+01..
 

Evaluation of Abstracts and acceptance notifications

 

Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the meeting and may be selected and distributed among the scientific sessions programmed according to the respective themes.

 

Although submitters of abstracts may indicate a preference for a particular session and a particular format of presentation, due to the limited amount of time and space available for oral sessions, and the anticipated large number of submissions, authors may be asked to accommodate their talks in other session or to give a poster presentation instead of an oral presentation.

 

Acceptation of contributions will be notified by mid of October by e-mail, and will remain pending of confirmation until the organization can verify that the presenter is already registered at the meeting and that the corresponding payment has been confirmed. Registration is a separate process that will be open the 17th of October 2018

 

Late cancellations and failures to give scheduled oral presentations are disruptive and leave gaps in the program. Before submitting an abstract, authors should be confident that they will attend the meeting and make the presentation.

 

Information about acceptable portable media formats will be further submitted to the authors.
